THE BOOK THAT STARTED IT ALL

The Old
Oak Tree

An old friend. A new beginning.
A story that stays with you.

For generations, the great old oak has been part of everyone’s life in the park. Children have played beneath its branches, families have sheltered in its shade, and birds and squirrels have made their homes among its leaves.

But when the oak begins to grow tired, a thoughtful carpenter sees something beautiful still to come.

A tender picture book about growing older, saying goodbye and discovering that something precious can carry on in unexpected ways.

The heart behind the story.
HELLO, I’M JENNIFER

A love of stories.
A life of caring.

Some stories begin long before
the first word is written.

Before writing The Old Oak Tree, Jennifer Bradshaw-Scott spent 26 years working as a tutor with profoundly Deaf children, often creating her own learning materials to help each child find a way in.

Her own love of reading began with a teacher who helped her find her confidence at nine. Books have rarely left her side since.

Now, her love of nature and family has found a home in a story of its own.
